West Ham United were handed a beatdown by Arsenal in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Sunday night.
It was a game to forget for West Ham in the end, as Arsenal has their way with us at the London Stadium.
The Hammers’ approach to the game was panned by the likes of Gary Neville, and now the gaffer is under huge pressure again.
However, in what was a really worrying twist, Julen Lopetegui told reporters after the match that he thought we were unlucky to lose so convincingly (WHUFC.com).
He must have been watching a different game to me.
Next up is a clash with Leicester on Tuesday night, and nothing less than a win will do there.
Hopefully everyone has recovered in time to put in a top-class display against the Foxes.
That performance against the Gunners on Saturday was embarrassing, and the stadium announcer didn’t help matters at half-time.
London Stadium announcer’s statement during West Ham v Arsenal clash
West Ham really are one of a kind aren’t we.
There always seems to be a freudian slip lurking around the corner, whether that be concerning our social media admin team, the players, the manager or this time, the London Stadium announcer!
During the half-time break, the London Stadium announcer’s voice reverberated around the ground through the tannoy system.
And what he said really was head-scratching…
“Let’s get this place bouncing, DJ, hit the bass“
He clearly failed to judge the mood correctly.
Hammers fans were streaming out of the London Stadium in their thousands after the half-time whistle, and those who remained were in no mood for any kind of festivities.
It was a dark day for West Ham – we were toyed with for large parts of the match by Arsenal.
There are certain things that are clearly not right at West Ham right now, and everyone involved with the club will be feeling rock bottom right now after the drubbing from Arsenal.
Hopefully the players turn things around, but if we are in a situation again similar to the one on Saturday, I hope the London Stadium announcer has learnt his lesson.
