Richarlison was touted for a move away in the summer after two underwhelming seasons at Tottenham. However, he decided to stick around and fight for his place.
Now, the Brazil international has made up his mind once again, though this time he seems to have decided otherwise.
Richarlison has revealed Tottenham exit plans to friends, report claims
As reported by Football Insider, Richarlison has told his friends that he wishes to leave Tottenham.
The 27-year-old, who moved to Hotspur Way from Everton ahead of the 2022/23 season on the back of a £60m move, had an offer from Saudi Arabia in last year’s summer transfer window, though he rejected the move at the time and was keen on fighting for his place at Spurs.
Things have not turned out well for him yet however, and injuries have further derailed his chances of becoming a starting XI mainstay under Ange Postecgolou. The Brazil international is now ready to accept a call from the Middle East.
Richarlison’s overall numbers for Tottenham read thus: 74 appearances, 16 goals, and nine assists.
TTLB Opinion
The time is right for the Richarlison-Spurs marriage to end. We’ve reached a point where neither party feels like it’s getting what it signed up for, and continuing the union feels like an ordeal that won’t solve anyone’s problems.
The Saudi interest means Tottenham should be able to recoup a fair chunk of the money they spent on Richarlison in 2022 when they signed him from Everton, which would make this move a bit less of a disaster than it would have been dubbed in another time.
