Man United interest in bringing Declan Rice into the club is ‘growing’, though completing a deal will not be easy.
It feels like Manchester United’s list of squad needs isn’t getting any smaller. A striker, goalkeeper, defender and midfielder are all absolute musts. Signing quality options in four positions, in one window, is never going to be easy.
Recently, United have been linked with West Ham’s Declan Rice. It’s thought the London club want in excess of £100m to let their star man leave. Obviously, that’s an awful lot of money, though you’re paying for the Premier League and English premium.
Over the last 24 hours, The Guardian have ran a story on Rice. Again, United are credited with a keenness on acquiring the West Ham man.
Apparently, Reds’ interest in the 24-year-old midfielder is ‘growing’, though United may have to sell players to fund a move for Rice.
It’s stated that Arsenal had been leading the race to sign Rice, though the expensive transfer fee could prove to be a problem for the London club.
West Ham are desperate to keep ahold of Rice for at least another season, though they know they’re facing a losing battle. I guess the promise of a huge transfer fee sort of softens the blow a little bit…
I think Rice is class. He absolutely bossed United single-handedly last weekend, though I’m not too sure splashing that much money on one player is the wisest idea when there are so many holes within the squad.
Ultimately, the decision lies with Ten Hag. the gaffer knows this current United squad, and their needs, better than anyone. Whatever choice he makes, it’s up to us to back it.
