Man United are showing an interest in signing Brighton’s attacking midfielder, Alexis Mac Allister.
Manchester United Football Club have been linked with a whole host of midfielders already this summer. That doesn’t look like changing anytime soon, with Erik ten Hag seemingly intent on adding some more ball-players in the central area.
Alexis Mac Allister may well be up for grabs this summer, with the Argentine prepared to take that next step within his footballing career. He has been linked with a Red Devils move previously.
Now, The Athletic has provided the latest on Mac Allister’s future. They state that the Argentine wants Champions League football if he leaves Brighton.
United are ‘understood’ to be among the clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old, while the Red Devils will face competition from Liverpool, who are also named as a potential buyer.
Mac Allister has a deal until 2025, with the option for a further year. His contract contains a mechanism that would help the midfielder facilitate a move away from Brighton, with the South Coast club having no say in the sale if that’s activated.
The midfielder is enjoying his best season a pro footballer, contributing to a Brighton side who are pushing hard for a place in Europe next term. They’ve been an absolute joy to watch for many reasons, with Mac Allister close to the top of that list.
The World Cup winner would be an asset to any side in world football, make no mistake about it. Recently, it felt like a move to Liverpool for Mac Allister was pretty much done, though if he wants Champions League football, United may still have a chance at getting this done.
