Man United have been given a double lift, with the return to training of both Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay.
Earlier today, a video surfaced of Marcus Rashford back in first-team training. The Englishman, who missed Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Wolves through injury, has been the Reds’ key attacking force this season.
Erik ten Hag was pretty vague about the severity of the injury during his last pre-match press conference, with the Dutchman keen to keep his cards close to the chest.
Well, the fact we saw Rashford back out there on the field had us all feeling relieved. The Englishman wasn’t alone in making a first-team return. The official club website would confirm the double boost shortly after, with Rashford joined by Scott McTominay – who has also been injured recently.
With four games left including the FA Cup final, this is welcome news for United. The squad had been looking a little thin on the ground in some positions, though suddenly, the dressing room looks far healthier.
It goes without saying, Rashford will be crucial. His goals, assists and general threat thave been important all season. United need two wins from three league games to secure top four. We’re going to need Rashy at his best.
McTominay’s absence has been pretty noticeable. He’s been gone for a fair while now, so there’s a good chance he will not be rushed back against Bournemouth this weekend.
However, with the news that Marcel Sabitzer’s season is over, this is a timely return from a depth perspective. If a game is tight, with the midfield looking a little tired, McTominay is an excellent option to have off the bench to try and turn the tide in United’s favour.
Welcome back, lads!
