Marcus Rashford remains a doubt for Man United vs Bournemouth despite his return to training. He has picked up an illness.
Manchester United had to cope without Marcus Rashford for the home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, though the Reds managed to overcome their opponents and secure all three points.
Rashford returned to training earlier this week, leaving us all feeling positive about the Englishman’s chances at featuring against Bournemouth tomorrow. However, that may not be the case…
The gaffer met the media today, revealing that the United star has picked up an illness, meaning he is now doubtful to make his return vs Bournemouth tomorrow. It all depends on how he recovers today, with the boss also factoring in how Rashy feels when he wakes up in the morning.
Check out what the gaffer had to say on Rashford in full here:
“Rashy, he trained the whole week but today he reported he doesn’t feel well so he’s ill,”
“We have to see how he recovers during the day and then see tomorrow.”
It goes without saying, United are better when Rashford is fit. The Englishman has been our main source of goals all season long. Without him, our attack can look toothless at times.
The good news is that Rashford’s body has overcome the minor injury that ruled him out of last weekend. The uncertainty here all depends on the severity of the bug.
If he’s contagious, the last thing Ten Hag will want is sickness running through the camp. If there’s any doubt of that happening, Rashford will be purposely kept away from the squad.
The problem that United have is nothing less than three points will do tomorrow. United absolutely need the victory to keep themselves as frontrunners for a top four finish. A Rashford moment of brilliance could well be the difference in these tight games… Let’s hope he’s good to go.
