The defeat against RB Leipzig highlighted that Thomas Tuchel has a lot of work to do at Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club lacked intensity in the second half, which eventually paved the way for Leipzig’s comeback. In terms of improving the personnel, Bayern definitely needs a prolific goalscorer next season to compete on all fronts.
Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern planned to replace Robert Lewandowski by using a fluid front three, but it didn’t yield consistent results over the season. Tuchel is also relying on the same approach since Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is currently struggling with injuries.
Bayern is expected to break the bank for a new number nine in the summer transfer window. Several reports in Germany have suggested that Die Roten has identified Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani as the top target for the number nine role. However, the latest update from Italy suggests that Bayern is pursuing another player for this position.
According to Sky Sports in Italy (via GFIN), Bayern is interested in signing Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic. The Italian club will be open to negotiating a deal if a considerable offer is made by interested clubs such as Bayern.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed Bayern’s interest in Vlahovic. Along with Die Roten, Manchester United are also closely following the situation of the Serbian striker at Juventus. Chelsea also has Vlahovic on their list of targets for summer as they look to sign a number nine.
Juventus paid €80 million (including bonuses) for Vlahovic in January 2022. The Serbian striker won young player of the year at Fiorentina before sealing a move to Juventus. The Italian club will look to recoup the majority of the fee they paid for the Serbian striker.
Vlahovic has witnessed a dip in his goalscoring form this season. He has scored 14 goals for Juventus across all competitions. It does look like this season was an anomaly for Vlahovic since he had scored 29 goals across all competitions for Juventus and Fiorentina last season.

The Serbian striker is still 23, so his best is yet to come. If utilized in a good system, Vlahovic can be a lethal striker. He will not be short of chances at Bayern if a move does materialize in the summer transfer window. The Serbian striker will be a much cheaper option for Bayern compared to other top strikers in the summer. Since Bayern also needs funds to sign a defensive midfielder, Vlahovic can be a very good option for Die Roten.
