The Bundesliga title race is going down to the wire as the results of gameweek 34 will decide the winner. Bayern Munich will have to rely on other results to retain the league title after they surrendered the advantage to Borussia Dortmund by collapsing to a 3-1 defeat against RB Leipzig last weekend.
Dortmund currently has a lead of two points at the top of the points table. Bayern will need to win against FC Koln on Saturday and hope for Dortmund’s defeat/draw against Mainz at Signal Iduna Park. The defending champions have received a big boost for their clash against Koln.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was spotted back in training with his teammates at Sabner Strasse this week. The 34-year-old has endured a frustrating time on the sidelines in the past few weeks due to injury. Since he is back in training with his teammates, Bayern is likely to include him in the matchday squad on Saturday.
Choupo-Moting has been a big miss in the run-in for Bayern since he has been one of the primary sources of goals this season. The Cameroon international has scored 17 goals for Rekordmeister across all competitions this season. He has led the attack well whenever he has featured in the starting XI.
Along with scoring goals, Choupo-Moting has been solid with his linkup play in the final third. Die Roten enjoyed an upturn in form during October when Julian Nagelsmann gave him a consistent run in the team. Die Roten has missed a presence upfront in their recent defeats in the Bundesliga.
Choupo-Moting earned a contract extension for his good performances this season. Thomas Tuchel will most likely use him from the bench against Koln since he has just recovered from an annoying injury.

Along with Choupo-Moting, Lucas Hernandez also started training with the first team this week. The French midfielder has recovered from a serious injury that has kept him out of action since December. He is unlikely to be part of the squad on Sunday since he lacks match rhythm after being out for six months.
Alphonso Davies has also been training on the pitch after recovering from an injury that has kept him out for the past three weeks. Thomas Tuchel will provide a detailed update on him during the pre-match press conference on Friday. Manuel Neuer has also started training outdoors at Sabner Strasse. The German goalkeeper is expected to be fit for the pre-season training in July.
