From Miguel Almiron’s stunning volley for Newcastle against Fulham to Marcus Rashford’s sublime solo goal for Manchester United at Arsenal… Mail Sport’s writers reveal their goals of the season
The 2022-23 Premier League season has come to an end and many goalscoring records were broken.
Man City‘s Erling Haaland topped the score sheet with 36 goals – the most ever in a Premier League season, regardless of how many games have been played.
In fact the season was the highest scoring 38-game campaign in Premier League history, with 1,084 goals averaging out at 2.85 goals per match.
And of course, there were some outstanding goals which will live long in the memory.
Mail Sport writers have taken a look back at the campaign, and reveal who they believe has scored the goal of the season.

Miguel Almiron (Fulham 1-4 Newcastle – October 1, 2022)
It needed the Midas touch to score from the position he did.
Bruno Guimaraes’ pass dropped over his shoulder and Almiron caught it on the volley to send the ball into the far, top corner from an impossible angle.

Sublime strike in the first game of his month-long purple patch that had Jack Grealish eating his words.
Julio Enciso v Man City and Lucas Moura v Leeds are worthy shouts, too.

Miguel Almiron (Fulham 1-4 Newcastle – October 1, 2022)
There is no finer sight than a ball coming over a shoulder and volleyed into the top corner.
Almiron did it with such poise and control, not over-hitting, which made it all the sweeter.
