Manchester City remain interested in signing Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, according to reports in England.
There were rumours that the Citizens enquired about the England international’s services in January but nothing came of it.
However, with Maddison’s Leicester having been relegated to the Championship, there is expected to be a scramble for the player’s signature, with Newcastle, Arsenal and Tottenham also involved. Even if he is available on the cheap, though, fans on Twitter are not convinced that the midfielder has sufficient ability to play for the Premier League champions:

Even though Maddison has just a year left on his contract, it is believed that Leicester may still hold out for between £40m and £50m, which is a sizeable price tag. The Foxes are hoping for a bidding war between competing teams.
For that reason, you can’t see City getting involved. With captain Ilkay Gundogan expected to leave on a free transfer, and Bernardo Silva’s future in doubt, they will be in the market for a midfielder but it seems unlikely that they will pursue Maddison.
