Manchester United have been dealt a major blow ahead of the FA Cup final after Anthony Martial was ruled out of the Wembley clash with Manchester City due to a hamstring injury.
Martial suffered a muscle tear in Sunday’s final Premier League game against Fulham and United revealed on Tuesday night that he will not be available for the first all-Manchester Cup Final.
A club statement read: ‘Anthony Martial is out of Saturday’s FA Cup Final against Manchester City due to injury.
‘The French international strained his hamstring towards the end of Sunday’s 2-1 win against Fulham at Old Trafford.
‘Assessments have since revealed a muscle tear that rules the 27-year-old out of the Wembley showdown.’

The injury is the latest setback for Martial who has missed a large part of the season due to a succession of injuries which began with a hamstring strain against Atletico Madrid in Oslo in pre-season.
He has made just 15 starts in all competitions and Martial’s lack of availability has cast doubt over his future at Old Trafford with United prepared to listen to offers this summer.
Erik ten Hag already faces an anxious wait over Antony’s fitness for Wembley after the Brazil winger was carried off in last week’s win over Chelsea, although the United manager is confident he will be passed fit.
