Bayern Munich confirmed the second signing of the summer on Friday. Raphael Guerreiro joins Bayern from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer. The Portuguese full-back will join on a three-year deal. There is more to come for Die Roten in this window. The Bavarian club is expected to be busy during the next few weeks negotiating deals for incomings and departures.
From a financial point of view, the biggest departure at Bayern this summer will be Lucas Hernandez. The French defender has told the club chiefs that he wants to join Paris-Saint Germain. Hernandez currently has 12 months left on his contract at Die Roten. It does look like PSG has set the wheels put in motion to complete the signing of Hernandez.
According to SportBild, PSG has contacted Bayern to begin talks to complete the transfer of Lucas Hernandez. The French club has started negotiations with Die Roten, but a formal bid has not arrived. Rekordmeister will look to get at least €50 million for the French center-back.
Meanwhile, RMC in France has also confirmed that talks between Bayern and PSG have started for Hernandez. The French media outlet also insists that Die Roten will look to get at least €50 million for the former Atletico Madrid defender.
The record Bundesliga champions were optimistic about extending Hernandez’s contract during Ruckrunde. They wanted to offer a new long-term deal despite the French defender’s injury struggles. A contract renewal looked certain as talks with the defender’s representatives were positive.
However, PSG reportedly came up with a better offer for Lucas Hernandez. They managed to convince the French defender to push for a move to Ligue 1. Bayern got final confirmation from Hernandez last week, as they wanted to know his final decision before he left for vacation.
Bayern cannot afford to lose Hernandez on a free transfer next summer. They have to cash in now and recoup the majority of the fee they paid for him in 2019. Considering the contract situation, Die Roten will do well to get €50-60 million for Hernandez.

The Bavarian club is already working on a replacement for Hernandez. They are close to reaching an agreement over personal terms with Napoli’s Kim Min-jae. Bayern can activate his release clause, which is reportedly worth €50 million, in the first 15 days of July. The Bavarian defender may look to sign two defenders as they have a concrete interest in Villarreal’s Pau Torres.
