After an exciting and unforgettable 2022/23 season, Manchester City will soon be back underway. This summer, the Sky Blues will be traveling to Japan and South Korea for their preseason tour. Numerous prominent clubs will be in attendance, such as Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern München, Atlético de Madrid, and AS Roma. Elsewhere in the region, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool will be showcasing their talent during their respective preseason tours.
The Sky Blues will begin in Tokyo, where they will face Japanese side Yokohama F. Marinos. The friendly match between the two clubs will take place on Sunday, 23 July, at the New Japan National Stadium. The Sky Blues previously faced Marion during their preseason tour in 2019, where the English side won 3-1.
City will then face Bayern on Wednesday, 26 July, at the same venue. The Sky Blues recently encountered Die Bayern during the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League Quarter-finals, where the English side emerged victorious. City won the first leg 3-0 at home. They then drew the second leg in Germany 1-1. This success would eventually see City win their first Champions League title, as well as the treble.
Manchester City will face Spanish giants in South Korea
The Sky Blues will then conclude their tour in Seoul, South Korea. They will play their final friendly match against Atlético de Madrid on Sunday, 30 July, at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. It will be the first encounter between the Sky Blues and the Colchoneros since their tight encounter during the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League Quarter-final. The Sky Blues won the first leg at home 1-0. They then earned a 0-0 draw away in Spain. Tempers flared during the second leg, where several players were booked, and Atlético had a player sent off.
Tickets will soon be available for their friendly features. To access more information about the preseason tour, Manchester City has posted the dates and venues of the aforementioned matches. This information can be accessed on City’s ticket website.
