Bayern Munich is close to completing a high-profile departure as they agreed a deal for Lucas Hernandez with Paris Saint-Germain. The French defender reportedly completed his medical in Paris over the last couple of days. Bayern is expected to sanction a few more first-team departures in July.
Ryan Gravenberch could be another high-profile departure at Bayern. The Dutch midfielder will decide on his future in the next few weeks after the Netherlands were knocked out from U-21 Euros. Gravenberch is eager to stay at Die Roten as long as he gets assurances over playing time.
The 21-year-old midfielder will look to seal a transfer in this window if Bayern and Thomas Tuchel are not ready to give him regular game time next season. Gravenberch was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool at the end of last season, but the Merseyside club is yet to submit an offer for him. The Dutch international is now attracting interest from one of the big clubs in Serie A.
According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, AC Milan is interested in signing Ryan Graveneberch from Bayern. However, Die Roten is not keen on selling Gravenberch right now. It remains to be seen if Rekordmeister’s stance on Gravenberch will change in the next few weeks.
Gravenberch sealed a move to Bayern from Ajax last summer after rejecting interest from other big clubs in Europe. The Dutch midfielder endured a difficult debut season. He struggled for game time under Julian Nagelsmann. He used to get cameos in games across all competitions but rarely had enough time to make an impression on the head coach.
The 21-year-old midfielder ended the season well, as Thomas Tuchel gave him few opportunities in the run-in during April and May. Gravenberch has publicly expressed frustration about his debut season in Bavaria, which surely suggests that he will push for a move if things don’t improve during the pre-season.
Bayern has already added Konrad Laimer to the midfield department in the current transfer window. The Austrian midfielder will compete with Gravenberch for a place in the starting XI. Die Roten is also looking to sign a new number six this summer, so competition in midfield is going to be even more intense.

If Rekordmeister eventually decides to grant Gravenberch’s wish, they will look to recoup the majority of €28 million that was paid for him last summer. As things stand, Gravenberch will report for pre-season at Sabner Strasse and have talks with Tuchel before pushing for a transfer away from the club.
