Birmingham face losing another teenage star this summer, as Man United, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle keep tabs on 16-year-old winger Trevan Sanusi
- Birmingham’s latest young prospect Trevan Sanusi only turned 16 in April
- He had been tipped to claim Jude Bellingham’s record as their youngest player
- Scouts from Premier League have made regular checks on the winger’s progress
Birmingham City’s latest young prospect Trevan Sanusi is poised to leave the club this summer amid interest from Premier League sides.
The left winger only turned 16 in April and had been tipped to claim Jude Bellingham‘s record as the club’s youngest player but ran out of games towards the end of the Championship season.
He was called up as 19th man by John Eustace for their away trip to Blackpool and trained occasionally with the first team but did not sign his scholarship contract.
Capped by England at U16 level, he has been a regular starter and scorer in Birmingham’s U21 side which has led to scouts from Premier League clubs making regular checks on his progress.
Manchester United watched him in April but Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle United have also sent scouts to assess him and are interested in signing him up.

Birmingham have continued to produce excellent prospects from their academy in recent seasons but their previous financial position has left them vulnerable to losing many.
Jobe Bellingham has joined Sunderland for £1.5m this summer while George Hall has been attracting interest from Leeds United. They also have 17-year-old Jordan James.
Birmingham have been trying to rebuild their squad this summer and have astutely added Tyler Roberts on a cut-price fee from Leeds, Manchester United’s Ethan Laird for £750,000 and Krystian Bielik from Derby County. However, they could lose Tahith Chong who has interest from Luton Town.
