Kyle Walker has long been linked to Bayern Munich now. Benjamin Pavard, the French hero from the World Cup goal against Argentina and now a regular for Munich is said to replace him at Manchester City.
Walker and the German club reportedly seem to have agreed personal terms for a two-year deal with an option to extend. Man City have not yet talked about the financials and therefore a final agreement awaits.
According to famous journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have just initiated a preliminary scan for Benjamin Pavard and nothing is concrete yet.
The journalist said: “Benjamin Pavard is an important target for Man City for the right-back position but nothing is advanced regarding this deal. They have just had preliminary discussions and it is way too early to report anything on the player’s move to Manchester at this stage.
“However, the deal does depend on what happens between Kyle Walker and Bayern Munich. Man City have always wanted Walker to stay at the club, so we will have to see how the negotiations with Bayern go.”
Manchester City have a pool of defenders wanting to make way with Kyle Walker and Aymeric Laporte sounding as sure as any. While Gvardiol has already been identified as a replacement for Laporte, getting Pavard in for Walker won’t be a shabby deal either.
