Burnley have become the latest football club to be the focus of a documentary after ‘Mission to Burnley’ was confirmed for release next week.
Vincent Kompany and his players are preparing for their return to the Premier League and opening match against reigning champions Manchester City next Friday.
It’s been a long-time coming for the Clarets, who put in immense work throughout last season to ensure that they returned to the English top-flight.
And now, football fans will get a chance to glimpse into the hard work going on at Turf Moor with the new four-part docu-series.
‘Mission to Burnley’, a Sky Original, focuses on one of England’s most historic clubs as they ‘seek to navigate the snakes-and-ladders world of modern football’.

‘Mission to Burnley’ will showcase the ongoings both on the pitch and behind the scenes during the club’s impressive 2021-22 campaign
The documentary will show fans ‘unprecedented access to the boardroom, dressing-room and inner workings of the club’.
There will be a large focus on the ongoings of Burnley’s American owners ALK Partners, as they tackle the obstacles of running an England football club.
On top of this, there will be heavy focus on the Clarets’ campaign last season, where they stormed to a Championship title under Vincent Kompany.
Burnley were relegated from the Premier League in 2021-22 but bounced back to the top-flight after a scintillating season last year.
Kompany’s side lost just three matches and recorded an impressive 101 points total to ensure their place back in the Premier League.
The four-part series will be available to stream as a boxset on NOW and Sky Documentaries from August 10th.

It will be produced by award-winning indie Ad Hoc Films, who also made the acclaimed ‘QPR: The Four Year Plan’ and ‘The United Way’.
Football documentaries have become common-place within the sports media world, with high-flying Newcastle set to star in a new series next week.
The Magpies will have their own version of Amazon’s ‘All or Nothing’ docu-series that will focus on the club’s campaign last season.
The likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Man City and Sunderland have all had their own docu-series’ produced in recent years.
