Erling Haaland‘s dad, Alfie, has mocked Arsenal in a tweet laced with sarcasm – and reminded everybody not to get complacent after his son drew a blank in the Community Shield final.
Manchester City‘s star man failed to register a shot and was substituted 64 minutes in as they fell to Arsenal 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
However, fans will recall Haaland’s woes in last year’s final and the mockery that sprung forth before he humiliated the critics with a record-breaking 52-goal season.
Alfie tweeted: ‘Well done Arsenal, great win. You must be favourites for the league now’ with a winking emoji.
It was a retweet of another post suggesting that Premier League fans should not get overly excited by his one-game dip due to how he blitzed last season following a poor Community Shield final.

Haaland scored twice on the opening day of last season away at West Ham before going on to bag a further 50 goals as Pep Guardiola’s men stormed to the Treble.
Arsenal got the better of City on Sunday in a statement victory for Mikel Arteta after the club’s big summer spending spree.
After being pipped to the title last year, the expectation is for Arsenal to challenge once again this time around, but they will have to overcome City to end their lengthy wait to win the league.
The Gunners begin their campaign at home to Nottingham Forest next Saturday, with City beginning their title defence on Friday evening at Burnley.
