Top-flight domestic football returned with a bang this weekend, with clubs embarking on the run up to Christmas across Europe’s top divisions.
There were fresh goalscoring records for prolific pair Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, Alejandro Garnacho netted one of the all-time great Premier League goals as Manchester United achieved a notable landmark at the other end of the pitch too, while Tottenham Hotspur equalled some unwanted records with a third straight defeat.
