Mauricio Pochettino’s excuse for Chelsea’s defeat in midweek was that his players were tired, having played with ten men for a big chunk of last weekend’s game against Brighton.
On BeinSport ahead of kick off today, they just weren’t having it.
“It’s an excuse not a reason” Gray commented, with Jason McAteer adding that “it’s a poor excuse.”
As they point out, we’ve go no European football and we’ve got a young squad and plenty of depth. Why on earth would they be tired? Certainly they should be no more tired than the teams they’re facing.
