Most Chelsea fans consider Marc Cucurella a bit of a walking disaster, so it’s curious to see him pick up a 7.1 rating out of 10 on WhoScored in a 2-0 defeat to Everton. That was the highest score in the Chelsea team.
The full back was switched from the left to the right side after Reece James’ injury, and had some intense matchups on either side with the Everton wide men.
This was very much a stats based rating – nobody in the stadium would have been arguing the Spaniard was the Blues’ best player. But he did pick up some nice numbers.
He had 3 tackles, an interception, 2 clearances and a block.
His attacking stats were much less impressive – a passing accuracy of less than 84%, 3 lont balls attempted with none completed, and no crosses attempted at all.
It shows what a bad showing all round it was for him to be top dog.
