One of the star performers of the 23/24 season thus far has been Destiny Udogie. Coming to the Premier League from Serie A with a number of doubts as to his fit in both the competition and Ange Postecoglou’s novel system, he has instead taken to every challenge like a duck to water. That’s why, according to the latest from Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to lock him down with a brand new deal:
⚪️ EXCLUSIVE: Tottenham reach an agreement with Destiny Udogie on new long term deal for Italian fullback.
Club sources confirm deal in place and sealed — understand it’s all done.

Destiny originally signed a four-year deal at the start of last season while with Udinese, remaining there on loan for the rest of that season. As someone who was possibly more potential than final product at that point, he was likely signed on rather low wages compared to some in the Spurs squad, and according to Fab the Tottenham hierarchy want to rectify that.
It’s unclear from Fab’s wording if the new deal will have a new end date (though the phrase “new long term deal” does make that implication), but regardless of that the improved wage package will hopefully help Destiny feel even more at home at N17 than he already does, and potentially ward off other pesky suitors who may be sniffing around for the first sign of dissatisfaction.
This is a great sign for Spurs. They’re clearly prioritizing securing the future of the club, and locking down players like Destiny Udogie to be a part of said future is a fantastic way to make a start in that respect. I would say to expect an announcement in the coming days (maybe weeks, Spurs tend to not rush these things).
Congrats Destiny! Let the good news keep coming, I say.
