good morning!
Those festive treats sure look amazing, don’t they? If you happen to be at the Christmas market in mainz between now and December 23, you might just find one.

Welcome to another hoddle where I, fitzie, solicit your advice to make my life choices.
On Wednesday I asked you all to help me figure out a roast. Today – Christmas bakes!
I’m going to be flying back home to California for Christmas this year and plan on doing a fair amount of baking. I love baking, especially when there are a handful of people to share my bakes with.
Perhaps one of my favourite things to make is the kvaefjordkake, a Norwegian cake featuring vanilla sponge and meringue. It’s a sure-fire crowd pleaser and relatively simple, although putting it together is a bit tricky.
So I might make that this year, but I want to try other things whilst also not giving myself too much work to do.
Here are my some ideas I’m mulling: pistacho and raspberry cake, chocolate cake, lemon cake, pina colada cookies, assortment of christmas cookies with one dough, Swedish cinammon buns.
Share your favourite holiday bakes here and help steer fitzie in the right direction.
