Jack Harrison is keen on making his loan spell from Leeds United to Everton permanent, sources have told Football Insider.
The winger’s loan does not include an option to buy but his contract does have a release clause that can be activated during his time at Goodison Park.
Sources have told Football Insider that a permanent move over the next months is dependent on Everton’s ongoing ownership saga and their points deduction appeal, which has put expensive transfers on hold.
The 27-year-old has made a big impression since joining in the summer with his energy and dynamism in Sean Dyche’s new-look side.
Harrison, who moved to Leeds for £11million in 2021 from Man City after successive successful loan spells at Elland Road, is popular among the staff and fans at Everton.
He was one of many Leeds players to utilise a relegation loan clauses in their contracts this summer, which saw him make the move straight back to the top flight after the Whites were relegated last season.
In 206 appearances for his parent club, he scored 34 goals and created 32 assists and helped guide them back to the Premier League in 2020.
For Everton this season, he has started 11 games in the league and endeared himself to the fanbase with his significant contributions to their excellent form.
Everton had to stomach a 10-point deduction after a single breach of Financial Fair Play rules was confirmed last month, but they are in the process of appealing.
Sean Dyche’s side have won seven of their last nine league clashes and performed admirably on Saturday (23 December) against Tottenham despite losing 2-1.
They next face Harrison’s former side Man City at home in the league on Wednesday (27 December).
