good morning!
I hope you all are enjoying this Boxing Day, where us Spurs fans can watch the footie without worrying too much over the results.
In the meantime, let’s continue our countdown of Fitzie’s favourite Spurs moments of 2023:
No. 5: Stellini at the wheel, Tottenham 2-0 Chelsea
Fitzie’s Top Five Spurs Moments of 2023, No. 4: Lucas Moura ends his Spurs tenure in style
What a way to end the 2022-23 season with a Lucas Moura banger!
It was already determined that Tottenham wouldn’t extend Lucas Moura’s contract, meaning that the away game at Leeds would be his last. It also was Harry Kane’s final competitive game for Spurs.
Spurs thrashed Leeds 4-1 in the final game with a brace from Harry Kane, a goal from Porro and Moura.
But Moura, coming on late in the game, scored with what might have been the final touch of the 90+x minutes.
Pape Sarr won the ball in Tottenham’s own half and then passed it to an open Moura who did one of his incredible goals, tearing through four Leeds defenders as he ran through almost the entire Leeds half of the pitch.
The celebration afterwards was just as lovely with the Tottenham boys on the pitch and in the seats running to their bald man.
Being hoisted up on the shoulders of Richarlison and Japhet Tanganga is an excellent way to end Moura’s time at Spurs.
