As well as the stars who could be on their way out during next month’s transfer window.
What they want: A left back, centre back, midfielder and forward.
Who they like: Villa are in no mood to sell Douglas Luiz cheaply, so Arsenal are exploring loan options because of FFP and also want a young, versatile left back.
They have looked at Jorrel Hato at Ajax, Yarek Gasiorowski of Valencia and Miguel Gutierrez of Girona, but the latter is a complicated deal that is difficult for January. Everton’s Amadou Onana, Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi and Pedro Neto of Wolves remain on the radar.
Who could go: Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Emile Smith-Rowe and Jakub Kiwior. Aaron Ramsdale is likely to stay until summer. Blocked a bid from Palace for Eddie Nketiah.

What they want: Forward, midfielder and right back.
Who they like: Villa remain committed to strengthening their squad as they aspire to Champions League qualification, the key is trying to improve on what they have.
They like Crysencio Summerville at Leeds and Timo Werner of Leipzig. They have also watched Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley.
Who could go: Leander Dendoncker, Calum Chambers, Bertrand Traore. Douglas Luiz has admirers, but Villa would want a big fee at this stage.
BOURNEMOUTH
What they want: Centre forward, centre back.
Who they like: A possible loan option could be Chile international Ben Brereton-Diaz at Villarreal. They also like Swedish centre back Isak Hien at Verona.
Who could go: Interest is gathering in Dominic Solanke but, with the form he is in, they are reluctant to sell. Lloyd Kelly has interest from AC Milan and Juventus for the summer. Kieffer Moore and David Brooks (loan) are attracting enquiries.
BRENTFORD
What they want: Right and left wing-backs, a box-to-box midfielder, a winger and striker, ideally all under 24.
Who they like: Spain Under-21 winger Assane Diao of Real Betis has been discussed and has a £26million release clause. Johan Bakayoko at PSV Eindhoven is another they like.
Who could go: Ivan Toney is their hottest property but his asking price makes a January deal unrealistic unless suitors get desperate. He is expected to wait until the summer, though that will hit Brentford’s value.

BRIGHTON
What they want: Winger, midfielder and left back.
Who they like: They have asked about Crysencio Summerville at Leeds and Jonathan Rowe of Norwich. Midfielder Arthur Vermeeren at Royal Antwerp is available and admired, while Valentin Barco of Boca Juniors remains on the radar, as is his team-mate, midfielder Ezequiel Fernandez.
Who could go: Odel Offiah (loan to Wigan).
BURNLEY
What they want: Left back, right back, defensive midfielder, centre forward on loan or within their limited budget.
Who they like: Vincent Kompany wants a clever signing to take his team up a level. A striker is needed, while they also like Chelsea wing back Ian Maatsen, who was on loan there last season, and Marseille midfielder Pape Gueye.
Who could go: Scott Twine.
CHELSEA
What they want: Striker, left back, centre back and goalkeeper.
Who they like: Striker and left back are the priority positions, but finances dictate they may not get the proven goalscorer they crave. Talks are taking place over a new left back. They have spoken about Ismail Jakobs at Monaco, who also admire Ian Maatsen. A deal for teen midfielder Pape Diong from AF Darou Salam is agreed, while they also admire Valentin Barco of Boca Juniors.
Who could go: Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr and Ian Maatsen. Conor Gallagher is still liked by Tottenham, but talks have yet to take place for a January move.

CRYSTAL PALACE
What they want: Right back, centre midfielder and forward, all on loan.
Who they like: Rebuffed by Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah but are looking at Hugo Ekitike of PSG and Matias Soule from Juventus.
Who could go: Sam Johnstone, Jean-Philippe Mateta.
EVERTON
What they want: Centre back, left back, midfielder and winger, but budget dictates loans.
Who they like: Harrison Reed of Fulham and Kasey McAteer at Leicester are admired, but there is a slim chance in this window.
Who could go: Ben Godfrey, Andre Gomes, Amadou Onana.
FULHAM
What they want: Striker, midfielder and centre back.
Who they like: Looking at West Ham’s Said Benrahma and are speaking to Fluminense midfielder Andre. Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart), Armando Broja (Chelsea) and Jonas Wind (Wolfsburg) are also on their list.
Who could go: Joao Palhinha, Tosin Adarabioyo.

Liverpool are in need of defensive reinforcements following a series of injuries to their backline
LIVERPOOL
What they want: Centre back, midfielder and winger.
Who they like: Taking stock of their defensive needs amid injuries and like Ousmane Diomande at Sporting Lisbon. They may wait until the summer though, as with Palmeiras winger Luis Guilherme.
Who could go: Nat Phillips (loan), Rhys Williams (loan), Fabio Carvalho (loan).
LUTON TOWN
What they want: Centre back, right back, a No10 and a striker, all on loan.
Who they like: Oscar Zambrano at LDU Quito and Japhet Tanganga of Tottenham have been discussed, but they are looking at others.
Who could go: Albert Sambi Lokonga (back to Arsenal).
MAN CITY
What they want: Midfielder, centre back and left back.
Who they like: Claudio Echeverri (River Plate, deal agreed), Marc Guehi (Palace), Valentin Barco (Boca Juniors), Finlay Gorman (Leeds, deal agreed), Matija Popovic (Partizan Belgrade).
Who could go: Kalvin Phillips on loan.
MAN UNITED
What they want: Striker, midfielder, centre back.
Who they like: Must sell before they move on a striker. Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart), Donyell Malen (Dortmund) and Timo Werner (RB Leipzig) are targets, but offers are restricted by FFP.
Who could go: Donny van de Beek (Frankfurt, loan agreed), Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Hannibal Mejbri, Amad Diallo (both on loan) and Jadon Sancho.
NEWCASTLE UTD
What they want: Centre back, midfielder, young striker on limited budget.
Who they like: City’s Kalvin Phillips, but Juventus are ahead at this stage. Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace) and Jordan Henderson (Al Ettifaq, loan) are admired.
Who could go: May need to get creative and sacrifice a favourite, such as Callum Wilson or Jamaal Lascelles, to create funds. Isaac Hayden is also likely to be sold.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST
What they want: Striker, midfielder and centre back.
Who they like: Nino (Fluminense), Pierre Ekwah (Sunderland), Cristian Medina (Boca), Gelson Martins (Monaco).
Who could go: Gustavo Scarpa (Atletico Mineiro), Joe Worrall.
SHEFFIELD UTD
What they want: Striker, winger, defensive midfield, right centre back on loan.
Who they like: Iliman Ndiaye (Marseille). Have recalled England Under-20 midfielder Oliver Arblaster from loan at Port Vale as he has a knee injury.
Who could go: Ismaila Coulibaly could go to AIK Stockholm.
TOTTENHAM
What they want: Centre back, midfielder and forward.
Who they like: Talks are underway for Genoa centre-back Radu Dragusin and an offer is in the pipeline for Ajax midfielder Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, 18. They watched Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest yesterday and have spoken to Jota at Al Ittihad. Other options include Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice), Alessandro Buongiorno (Torino), Roony Bardghji (Copenhagen), Samuel Iling-Junior (Juventus), Archie Gray (Leeds) and Jonathan Rowe (Norwich).
Who could go: Hugo Lloris has agreed to join Los Angeles FC, Richarlison has interest from Saudi Arabia, but that will be rejected. Eric Dier, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
WEST HAM
What they want: Striker and a centre back.
Who they like: Serhou Guirassy (Stuttgart), Dominic Solanke (Bournemouth), Marcos Leonardo (Santos), Joshua Zirkzee (Bologna), Dan-Axel Zagadou (Stuttgart).
Who could go: Said Benrahma’s sale will raise funds, plus Thilo Kehrer, Pablo Fornals, Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings.

WOLVES
What they want: Winger, centre back and goalkeeper.
Who they like: Mohamed Amoura (USG). They approached Lucas Moura at Sao Paulo, but could not agree a deal. Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace).
Who could go: Sasa Kalajdzic has a loan offer from Eintracht Frankfurt, Jonny, Jose Sa. Fabio Silva has joined Rangers on loan.
