Remember the halcyon days of 45 minutes ago when we were celebrating a 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur win over Burnley that sent Spurs to the fourth round of the FA Cup, and I posted in the match report that I sure hope Ben Davies was okay after he appeared to be holding his hamstring?
Welp.
Ange: “Ben Davies looks like he’s done his hamstring.”

Crap crap crappity crap CRAP. The good news is that both Ryan Sessegnon and Micky van de Ven are back in the squad — Micky didn’t make the pitch but was on the bench, while Sess was a late second half sub for his first competitive football minutes in nearly a year. So that’s good.
But man, with this team this season it feels like every time you take a step forward, somebody’s hamstrings snap like guitar strings. It really sucks because Ben Davies has been good this season — and not just “guy filling in while playing out of position good” but actually GOOD good.
We don’t know yet how long Davies might be sidelined, and probably won’t know for a little while yet. That said, I’m a little nervous that this means that Spurs no longer have the luxury of easing Van de Ven back into shape. With Cuti Romero already out medium term with his own injury, Spurs continue to stay just one half-step away from utter disaster at the back.
But hey, maybe we get Radu Dragusin in soon, yeah?
