Ho, fellow FA Cupians! (Cuppers? Cupovians?) We got ourselves another full, if slightly less than yesterday, day of FA Cup magic for your viewing pleasure. You know the drill after yesterday.
Sixth tier Maidstone United won the day yesterday, securing the biggest upset of the tournament thus far by defeating Gary Rootbeer and Stevenage at home and sending The Stones to the Fourth Round for the first time in their history. It was fun. Glad it wasn’t us.
There are a couple of tasty matchups today, including a cross-border derby between Shrewsbury and America’s Favorite Welsh Club and Ryan Reynolds money machine, Wrexham. The lowest ranked team playing today is Aldershot Town, currently tenth in the fifth tier National League. Shame they have to visit the London Stadium to play at West Ham.
But the tastiest matchup is the late game between Arsenal and Liverpool. A best case scenario here is a draw, because then they have to play each other again before one of them leaves the competition, and I’d love it if they’d play as much inconvenient football as possible, thanks.
