It’s very nearly Timo Time! According to London-based Spurs journo Alasdair Gold, Timo Werner is set to arrive in London on Monday evening to complete a medical and sign paperwork for a loan to Tottenham Hotspur for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
Understand Timo Werner will arrive at Spurs this evening to begin all of the process ahead of his move.

That means, considering there’s still initial interviews, social media video and promotional materials to produce, we’re likely to see the official announcement of Timo’s loan sometime on Tuesday, plenty of time for him to get a few days of training with his new team before Sunday’s match against Manchester United. Given that time frame, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be available to play at Old Trafford, though knowing Ange Postecoglou it’s more likely that we’d see him come on off the bench than start. But hey, we didn’t know about Rodrigo Bentancur’s return to the starting lineup until it happened, so who knows.
A Timo Werner loan along with CB-to-be-named-later would make for a pretty decent incoming transfer haul for a January window, to be honest, and it leaves plenty of time for outgoings as well as targets of opportunity later in the window. Timo Werner isn’t a slam dunk of a signing, but a loan with a purchase option makes it a low risk deal with the potential of an extremely high reward if Big Ange can get Timo firing again.
