Everton would be the “perfect” destination for Man United ace Hannibal Mejbri, a recruitment expert has told Football Insider.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, ex-Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton senior scout Bryan King said that the Toffees would be “a lot better” for Mejbri than Sevilla, who are also in hot pursuit of the midfielder.
As revealed by Football Insider, the 20-year-old has said “yes” to a proposal from the La Liga side as he closes in on a loan move, which could be made permanent this summer.
The senior Tunisia international has made 10 senior appearances this season following a successful loan spell at Birmingham City in the last campaign, but now looks set for another spell away from Old Trafford.
King, who is very connected to clubs inside and out of the Premier League, was adamant that Goodison Park would suit the “big talent” and Man United much more than a move to Spain.
“He’s a player that, for the boy and Man United, would be perfect for Everton,” King told the Inside Track.
“I think that would suit him a lot better than a move to Sevilla.
“He’s a big talent and has done reasonably well. It might mean a new face at Everton who’s bright and can add a plus to the team.
“Personally, I’d like to see him go to Everton, but if Sevilla are prepared to put the money upfront, then I’m afraid money seems to control many deals.”
With just four starts for the Red Devils this season, Hannibal looks unlikely to earn regular first-team minutes and the club and is set for a move away.
Everton, amid their financial turmoil and 10-point deduction, are having to be shrewd in the market this month and rely on loan deals to try and avoid relegation.
