The Athletic’s David Ornstein has been speaking this week on Chelsea’s summer transfer plans and whether they will be compliant with FFP rules or not.
A lot has been said about Chelsea in recent weeks and months, and although they had a quiet January, Ornstein expects them to address some more positions in the summer window.

The main ones will of course be a new striker and also a new defender to replace Thiago Silva. But Ornstein believes the recruitment will continue to be for young players.
He also confirms that Chelsea are confident of complying with FFP and this should not effect their plans for incomings.

Ornstein: “Chelsea’s Recruitment policy will continue on a youthful front. We will see some activity in the summer. They will address the defence. In attack as well but it’s not guaranteed that they will sign one of these big name huge money signings. The midfield I think is well set. The confidence inside Chelsea is high that they will remain compliant with FFP.”
