One current Chelsea player has revealed that he had to make a very tough decision recently, but one that he probably made correctly in the end.
As we lead up to Chelsea’s next match away at Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, this will be a game that will mean and matter to some player more than others.
EXCLUSIVE! Inside Chelsea’s early plans for the summer transfer window – will they spend big again and what positions are they looking at? News on Sesko, Osimhen, Gyokeres, Toney, Robinson, Davies, Kilman, Andersen, Guehi, Diomande, Todibo, and much more!
It will matter to Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, who was a Manchester City player until the summer when Chelsea snapped him up and signed one of the best players they have managed to capture in a while.
Palmer has already become Chelsea’s talisman, backing up his big decision to make the move from Etihad to Stamford Bridge recently, but Palmer admits that this was a really tough decision to make.
He had been at City since he was a young kid, so there was always going to be an emotional attachment to the club. But he wanted and needed to play regular football, which he wasn’t getting at City and is now getting at Chelsea.
In words quoted by the Chelsea website, Palmer said: “I have been surprised by how well it’s gone here so quickly, but I always back myself to succeed.
“When I made the decision to come down here with my family it was a really tough decision to leave, but I felt like I was ready to play week in, week out and showcase my ability. So thank you to the club and everyone who has supported me.”
