Mauricio Pochettino was asked by a journalist in his press conference today whether he “liked” Pep Guardiola, as a person.
He said yes, but he was then reminded that he had forgone his handshake with the Man City manager after the last game between the two of them – he was too busy storming onto the pitch to confront the referee.
“It’s not going to happen again,” the coach promised with a smile on his face when relating the incident back before Christmas.
It’s a pretty funny question, we have to say. Guardiola is without doubt the most respected manager in the game. But is he likeable? Not so much. It’s not that he’s a pantomime villain like some other coaches, but he does tend to rub people up the wrong way with his manner sometimes.
