Nicolas Jackson has been called into the headmaster’s office a few times this season to speak to his manager about the silly bookings he picks up.
It doesn’t seem to be sinking in. He got his wildest one yet on Monday night – he had been subbed off, but got a yellow for running onto the pitch to celebrate with his teammates. He’s now just one yellow away from a two game suspension – and we’re only halfway through February.
Asked about it today, Mauricio Pochettino couldn’t be angry. “It’s bad… but it’s good” he said, pointing out that he was happier to see his striker booked for celebrating with exuberance than for most other things.
