Chelsea battled to a 1-1 draw away at Manchester City tonight, and the top rated player on WhoScored was Rodri, who scored the equaliser for the home team.
The top rated Blues was Malo Gusto, and we’d have to agree. His showing was only matched by that of Axel Disasi.
But as well as defending well, Gusto was great going forward too. His 7.8 rating was actually level with Rodri, so he only just missed out on the top prize.
He made two key passes, 3 crosses, 3 long balls and 28 passes in total. Defensively, he contributed 10 clearances, a blocked shot, and an amazing 8 tackles.
He’s just been getting better and better in recent weeks, and this was a real statement game against the best of the best. We desperately need to give him a break as he’s played so much, and we hope he can make it through the final next week unscathed. He’s become a key player.
