Chelsea have just earned a solid 1-1 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad.
The Blues battled to the result, threatening a lot on the counter attack at first but then sinking deeper and deeper after scoring.
Still, City had the chances to win it, so we can’t be too disappointed with a draw. Former Chelsea captain John Terry took to Twitter to compliment two players who had put in the most Terry-like showings at the back.
Axel Disasi put his body on the line time after time, celebrated blocks and made towering headers. JT would have been proud.
Great performance. 👏🏻
We looked solid and posed a threat on the counter attack, Disasi and Gusto both excellent. @ChelseaFC ⚽️💙 👊🏻
Brilliant from everyone.— John Terry (@JohnTerry26) February 17, 2024
To his right, Malo Gusto was a menace up and down the right, as well as keeping the dangerous Jeremy Doku on lock. He really had another superb game, and we want to keep him wrapped up in cotton wool for the Carabao Cup semi now.
Chelsea showed great character and great fight in this game, and we want more of it next week.
