This always looked set to be a breakthrough season for Levi Colwill, and it has proved to be, although there’s been plenty of distraction to take the attention off his impressive progress.
He’s played more than he could ever have hoped for a first season in the league – although he might not have expected for 90% of those minutes to be at left back.
But he’s now made his move to the centre, and if he keeps playing like he did on Saturday, he will be a fixture there.
It’s certainly no surprise to see Chelsea doing a whole feature on him on their site give his amazing progress. He spoke about the excitement of playing at Wembley, and the importance of getting a first trophy as a Blue:
“[Playing at Wembley] means a lot. Obviously, coming through the Academy, you’re taught that this is a club for winners. It’s part of our philosophy.
“So we’ve got to go there and do everything to win. That is what I expect from myself, that is what expected when you’re at Chelsea.”
We’re so happy for Levi that things are working out – and we’re hoping that we see plenty more of him in his real position before the end of the campaign.
