Enzo Fernandez appears to be finding his feet at Chelsea and settling into life in the Premier League.
The World Cup winner joined in January 2023 for £107m from Benfica after a protracted transfer saga, but unfortunately the Blues haven’t been in great form during his time at the club and have remained in mid table.
However, this season the midfielder has really shown his quality and has added goals to his game, including an outstanding freekick against Aston Villa in the FA Cup.
Fernandez has been utilised in a number of different positions under Mauricio Pochettino with some not getting the best out of his skill set, but when he is playing in his preferred deeper role his array of passing both long and short is of the highest quality.
It’s this passing ability that has actually set the 23 year old apart from all the other players in the league.
According to WhoScored Fernandez has played more accurate long balls than any other player in the league since he arrived at Stamford Bridge.
When you consider the quality of players like Kevin de Bruyne, Phil Foden and Bruno Fernandes it’s some achievement to top the list.
The Chelsea midfielder has scored seven goals and assisted once across 31 appearances in all competitions this season.
Next up for Fernandez is the small task of Liverpool in the Carabao cup final and the Blues will be relying on all the Argentines quality if they are to their hands on the trophy for the first time since 2015.
