U.S. midfielder Weston McKennie was forced off three minutes from time in Juventus‘ 3-2 win over Frosinone with a left shoulder injury after landing awkwardly.
The 25-year-old, Washington native bagged two assists in Sunday’s game after he set up teammate and striker Dusan Vlahovic before going off injured. He was substituted in the 87th minute by English winger, Samuel Iling-Junior.
After his side’s first victory in four matches, Juventus head coach Massimiliano Allegri remained tight-lipped over McKennie’s injury layoff, saying that ‘we’ll see’ when asked about the amount of time that the American will be sidelined for.
Second-placed Juventus now moves to within six points of Inter, which has played two fewer matches and visits relegation-threatened Lecce later on Sunday. AC Milan will playing Atalanta later on, as well.
It was a fourth straight loss for Frosinone and left it three points above the drop zone.

Juventus was looking to get back to winning ways after only picking up two points from its past four matches.
And things looked to be going to plan when it took the lead with less than three minutes on the clock. McKennie controlled a ball over the top and crossed from the right for Vlahovic to slot into the far bottom corner.
However, Walid Cheddira headed in the equalizer 11 minutes later and the visitors turned the match around completely in the 27th minute when Marco Bresciannini fired in after a great through ball from Emanuele Valeri.
Juventus levelled five minutes later as McKennie controlled a cross from Andrea Cambiaso and found Vlahovic, who curled into the bottom left corner for his 15th league goal of the season and his ninth in seven matches.

And just as it appeared that Juventus was heading for another winless match, the ever-dangerous Vlahovic nodded on a corner to the back post for Rugani to fire home from the tightest of angles in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
McKennie now has five assists in 25 Serie A matches played this season – a far cry from his one assist in 19 appearances at Leeds – as he was returning to form before his injury.
He will be racing to be fit in time for next Sunday’s high-profile match against Napoli – reigning Serie A champions.
It remains to be seen as to whether McKennie would miss the US’ next game against Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League on March 21.
