Full time on Sunday was a bit of a whirlwind for Chelsea fans and players.
They’d come so close to winning the game in 90 minutes, only to lose in the last knockings of extra time.
Both coaches and players went up to collect their runners up medal looking pretty stunned.
Some noticed that manager Mauricio Pochettino appeared to miss club co-owner Todd Boehly’s handshake as he shuffled along the balcony, and so of course in his press conference today the Argentine has been asked about his relationship with the owners, and whether he had spoken to them after the game:
“Yes [I feel their support]. After the game, Todd sent a very nice message. We were talking and I said hello when I saw them in the stadium. I met Behdad after and we were talking, we were talking,” the coach said.
“We were sharing the opinion of the game, we were talking about the opportunity we missed to win a trophy because we played really well in 90 minutes. We were not clinical enough.
“Yes, [they’re] looking forward to the next competition and then the Premier League and try to win every single game.”
We never read into the viral clip much anyway – it looks like Boehly has just turned away at the wrong moment. Pochettino seems very relaxed about the whole thing. We’re sure his job is safe until the end of the season, unless things go really wrong.
