Chelsea are tracking Gent’s Archie Brown with the possibility of making a summer move according to reports.
The 21 year old joined Swiss side Lausanne after leaving leaving Derby County three years ago before moving to Belgian side Gent last summer.
Brown has shown versatility in his career and started as a left winger before being converted to a left back when he joined Lausanne and has since made good progress in that position.
He has done well at left wing back this season for the Belgian outfit and has a chance of earning his first call up to the England u21 squad this month.
Chelsea are expected to be in the market for a left back this summer with the club looking for backup to Ben Chilwell.
The Stamford Bridge outfit are looking to sell Marc Cucurella who has struggled since his £62m move from Brighton in 2022 and Ian Maatsen who is on loan at Borussia Dortmund whilst Lewis Hall’s loan move to Newcastle is set to become permanent.
The Guardian reports that the Blues have been tracking Brown who is valued at about £15m but are set to face competition from Juventus, AC Milan, Lyon and Nice and rivals West Ham.
Brown has made 31 appearances across all competitions this season and has played European football in the Uefa Europa Conference League.
