The weekend’s football is getting started across the continent, and while Chelsea don’t play until 3, there are a few loan players getting started earlier.
We’ve been enjoying Alex Matos’ progress at Huddersfield since he went there in January. He got straight into their team and has since picked up 9 starts for the Terriers, 8 of them in the Championship.
But today he’s been left on the bench by new manager André Breitenreiter.

This is the German coach’s first game, so there’s a good chance Matos can force his way back into the team quickly, but it’s a disappointing start to life under the new coach, who plays an aggressive form of front foot pressing football that should suit Matos perfectly.
Huddersfield play Leeds, who rested players against us in midweek and will be hoping to continue their sensational run in the division. We expect to see Matos in the second half, so tune in to that to warm up for the Chelsea game.
