One of Chelsea’s owners Todd Boehly might not be quite as hands on as he has been since taking part ownership of the club, but he is certainly still very busy.
Boehly was named as the chairman of Chelsea for this season but before that, he and his co-owners from Clearlake pretty much had to act as temporary sporting directors as they waited and looked to appoint suitable people for that role.

Now they have experts employed in those areas, Boehly has taken a bit of a step back. However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t still getting his hands dirty, and he has even been holding meetings this week in order to try and broker some deals.
According to reporter Simon Phillips on his Substack site, Boehly has been in Saudi meeting officials regarding potential player sales to that league again, just as he did this time last year.
There will be other reasons for the meetings as well, but Phillips says: “I can confirm that Boehly is once again holding meetings with officials in Saudi in order to try and broker some similar deals for this June.
“It is unclear at the moment which players he could look to try and sell, but there are not many players in the squad that Chelsea would not be willing to listen to good offers for.”
But Phillips further explains in the article that there is also a potential stumbling block to some of these potential sales to Saudi…..
