Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he threw his third Barbecue of the season for players and staff on Friday afternoon.
The Blues have really struggled for consistency in the league which is a major contributing factor to why Pochettino’s men find themselves in the bottom half of the table.
One of the major challenges the Argentine has faced this campaign is getting an entirely new group of players to gel with each other.
One thing the 52 year old has done to try and connect the new group is host barbecues for both players and staff with Pochettino revealing he held the third one of the season on Friday afternoon.
In quotes picked up by The Standard he emphasised the importance of players understanding what it means to be a Chelsea player.
He said: “The idea is to share among the players, and all the staff are invited, too.”
“There are going to be 120 or 130 people. The most important thing is that the players understand what it means to be a Chelsea player, to share with people sometimes what you don’t see from the office, to be all together, and to create a very good atmosphere.”
“For sure, we are not going to score goals because we are going to have a barbecue, but of course, it is about communication and feeling better.”
“It is not only a training ground where you come to work. It’s home, and we want to create a good feeling among everyone. To get people to fight for the same thing, to win.”
Pochettino will be hoping the barbecue will inspire Chelsea to victory in tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter final against Leicester City as the Blues look to book their return to Wembley.
The 52 year old is still under a lot of pressure and will need a strong finish to the season to boost his chances of still being at Stamford Bridge next season.
