Armando Broja is another name to add to the list of disaster loans organised by Chelsea this season.
He’s barely had a look in since moving to Fulham in January, and today doesn’t even make the squad for the Cottagers as they face Spurs. Marco Silva says it was a “technical decision” to leave him out.

Mathematically, he now cannot make 10 starts for them, and that means they have to pay Chelsea a £4m penalty clause, as per the terms of the loan deal.
Fulham will now pay Chelsea £4million as Armando Broja is not in the matchday squad vs Tottenham.
It’s effectively a penalty clause as the Cottagers needed him to make 10 starts to avoid paying, with only nine further games left.

Poor Armando just wants to play, but his career continues to spiral downwards following the injury in the winter of 2022. His future is very uncertain now.
£4m is just compensation – this shouldn’t be seen as a positive by anyone. If Broja was playing and scoring even semi regularly, he would have increased his value. Instead, it’s likely to have dropped. The difference between the two transfer fees is certain to be far higher than £4m.
