Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has described Chelsea as a “fantastic team with fantastic players” ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup quarter final at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues head into this game off the back of a much needed 3-2 win over Newcastle on Monday and a run to the latter stages of the FA Cup would go some way to making up for another disappointing league campaign.
Opponents Leicester currently sit top of the Championship and seem set to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Maresca certainly deserves praise for the job he has done in his first year at the King Power Stadium having been assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City last season.
Speaking in his pre match press conference Maresca was full of praise for Chelsea and predicted the Blues will soon be back as one of the best teams in the country.
He said: “They are a fantastic team with fantastic players, in a moment where they’re changing things. When you change players and manager and the style, it can take time. For sure they will be one of the biggest teams in England soon.”
Chelsea fans will certainly be hoping the Leicester boss is right with his prediction but it’s impossible to tell when the Blues will be back challenging at the top of the Premier League and playing Champions League football again.
