Chelsea beat Leicester City 4-2 at Stamford Bridge yesterday in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, but they made it very tough for themselves.
Once again, they seemed to fold over at half time and threw away a two goal lead, letting Leicester get back in the game to bring it to 2-2. It then needed two late moments of brilliance after some sustained pressure from Chelsea who didn’t give up, to win the game in the end with a comfortable scoreline that certainly did not tell the whole story.
EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add new Premier League full back to transfer shortlist. Also, a promising French left back has joined the same list!
Midfielder Moises Caicedo was great again for Chelsea, and his job that he does has become a real unsung one. He’s been the subject of harsh criticism this season from pundits and rival fans, but Caicedo has been really consistently good in the last handful of matches and most of the season really after a bit of a slow start.
He’s producing stats like below on a regular basis now, but people just don’t see it enough because the job he does goes rather unnoticed.
🇪🇨 Moises Caicedo registered more chance creations (4), more successful passes into the final third (13), more successful duel battles (8/15) and suffered more fouls (4) than any other player for either Chelsea or Leicester.
