good morning!
For those who have been following along with my hoddles, I have had a hard time finding a good record store in DC.
My record-buying has shrunk considerably since I moved down to this part of the country. Mostly because I don’t often buy new records. I’m a used-records guy.
But even with new releases I had to rely on the internet (how do some places not carry the latest Vampire Weekend record ???). Nevertheless …
Anyways, I finally snagged a great find at Joint Custody last week: a Japanese Blue Note Dexter Gordon record.
I’m a sucker for used records, and I love the Japanese Blue Note series. They sound great, are always in very good condition when I find them, come with a real nice-looking Japanese obi strip and the record itself is in a good plastic sleeve.
They’re not the easiest records to find. So I like to grab one of these whenever I come across them in the wild. The one time I didn’t was at Reckless Records (because I stopped at Sister Ray first).
This is my second Japanese Blue Note pressing, and now one of the handful of Japanese-made records I own. It’s a beauty alright, and now carefully stored with my other high-value records.
