AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez has been on Bayern Munich’s radar for a few weeks now as the uncertainty with Alphonso Davies grows.
Per one report out of Italy, the Bavarians have the “money and interest” to get a deal done for the Frenchman:
It is no secret that Bayern Munich have been monitoring Theo Hernandez for a long time and according to Gazzetta, the Bavarians have “everything” to sign the French international this summer.
Journalist Luca Bianchin wrote that the Bundesliga giants have “the money and the interest” to persuade Milan to sell Theo, who would replace Alphonso Davies. The Canada international is set to leave Bayern this summer or in 2025, according to Gazzetta.
Everything about this move is probably dependent on Davies. If Davies re-ups with Bayern Munich, the interest in Hernandez likely goes away. That scenario seems unlikely at this point, though, because Davies has been so closely linked to Real Madrid. Even if Real Madrid walks away from the Davies pursuit (as has been rumored), the Canadian star would likely draw interest from Premier League teams like Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, and Manchester City.
Now, the major question is if Bayern Munich would just ink Hernandez anyway and opt to move on from Davies regardless of what he does with Real Madrid. It is possible that Bayern Munich could just think that Hernandez is just better than Davies at this point, too.
Bayern Munich and Manchester United could be vying for RedBull Salzburg center-back Oumar Solet:
Manchester United and Bayern Munich are both showing keen interest in RedBull Salzburg’s center-back Oumar Solet, sources from 90min understand.
The 24-year-old Frenchman has been turning heads since his move from Lyon to the Austrian side in 2020. As he nears the final year of his contract, Solet’s impressive performances have put him on the radar of top clubs across Europe, including teams from the Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Serie A.
In addition to United, other Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa, Brighton & Hove Albion, and West Ham United have also shown interest in Solet, Foot Mercato claims. These clubs have been actively exploring the possibility of bringing the towering defender to England, attracted by his solid defensive skills and potential for growth.
The competition for Solet’s signature is perhaps fiercest in the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen have all sent scouts to watch his performances closely in recent months. Bayern Munich, in particular, are keen on strengthening their backline, and Solet’s profile fits their requirements perfectly.
In about a week, Bayern Munich have become the laughing stock of the football world. Going all-in on trying to keep Thomas Tuchel for another year only to be rejected, and then finishing third in the Bundesliga after a devastating defeat to Hoffenheim — it’s the lowest point this club has seen in well over a decade.
Since Tuchel is now gone, it’s time to start blaming the people actually responsible for this circus. The board needs to answer for what is happening at this club.
In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:
- This is how the banter era starts.
- Tangent: Is Manuel Neuer finished? Probably not.
- How a lack of leadership at the top level has led to this current situation.
- Why people should have seen this coming.
- How this current coaching circus makes it even harder to find a new coach.
- What trying to keep Thomas Tuchel at the last minute says about the board.
- Why doesn’t Bayern Munich want to bring back Hansi Flick?
- Discussing the pros and cons of a potential Flick return.
- Some other final candidates, like Erik ten Hag (ew), Allegri (eww), and Mourinho (ewww).
WhoScored.com released its Bundesliga Team of the Season and Bayern Munich had three players named to the squad:

FC Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski recently spoke about not winning the Ballon d’Or in either 2020 or 2021 while with Bayern Munich.
“I had the best years of my career in 2020 and 2021. A friend recently sent me statistics: I scored 100 goals in 85 games. Of course, I would have loved to receive the Ballon d’Or award at some point. It’s not that I’m angry or nostalgic because I haven’t won this trophy yet. But I feel like it would have been my turn in one of those two years
The one from 2021 belongs to Lionel Messi. I’ve heard there are rumors that the 2020 Ballon d’Or could still be awarded belatedly. That year was outstanding for me, I was at my highest level, we won everything. Let’s put it this way: if I were to receive the 2020 Ballon d’Or four years later, I would certainly not be offended – it would be a big honor and I would accept the award.”
Bayern Munich closed out its season with a disappointing 4-2 loss in Sinsheim to a very solid Hoffenheim squad.
While the game started out great for Bayern Munich, the Bavarians eventually lost some steam and were overtaken by the home side. It was a sad ending to a hapless (and trophyless) season. Let’s get down to it and see what we have on tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Postgame Show:
- A look at the starting lineup and why it was weird (and probably unnecessary, too).
- How the game played, including the feeling we all had when Bayern Munich blazed its way out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of the match.
- The sinking feeling of watching the team lose its steam in the second half.
- Some thoughts on why it was just time for Thomas Tuchel to leave.
- Addressing the uncertainty of what’s next.
Former Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcântara wants to stay in the Premier League after leaving Liverpool FC in July:
Thiago Alcantara has offers to stay in the Premier League next season after his contract with Liverpool expires.
There has been a lot of speculation surrounding Real Madrid star Luka Modrić’s future. As of now, it looks like he wants to spend another season in Spain, despite outside interest:
⚪️ Luka Modrić has informed Real Madrid of his desire to stay at the club and sign new contract.
It’s not about the salary, Modrić told Real Madrid of his intention to stay.
Modrić has rejected already two big proposals to wait for Real.

Bayern Munich’s season is over.
With one game left of the season at the time that this podcast has dropped, fans are peering toward the summer transfer window and wondering how different this roster might look by September.
We’ve got thought on that and a whole lot more, so let’s get to it and see what we have in tap for this episode of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Weekend Warm-up Show:
- Wait, Thomas Tuchel is coming back? It sure looks like it.
- The veto power “rule” at Bayern Munich is wreaking havoc.
- What players could exit if Tuchel comes back.
- Why in the world did the DFB opt to release its roster in such a haphazard manner?
- Speaking of the German national team roster, let’s talk about that roster drop. Did Julian Nagelsmann get it right?
The Frauen Bundesliga could be set to grow:
The Frauen Bundesliga is set to expand, with a clear majority voting for an early expansion for the 25/26 season in a recent meeting in Köln. The topic was discussed frequently as part of the growth and professionalisation plan by the DFB. https://t.co/BaMWdUJSYg

The Bayern Munich Frauen has inked Linda Sembrant to a one-year extension:
Linda Sembrant will be staying at FC Bayern Women for another year after the 37-year-old central defender signed a new contract until 2025. The 147-time Sweden international originally moved to Munich on loan from Juventus in the winter.
Bianca Rech, head of FC Bayern Women: “Linda immediately took on a very important role in the team in January. She played a big part in our success this season and in winning the Bundesliga. She integrated really well right from the start, quickly brought all her experience to the team, and has become an important point of contact for players and coaches. We’re extremely pleased that Linda is not ending her career in the summer but is staying with us for another year. Linda has told us that it is something unique for her here at FC Bayern, that she feels very comfortable and has been very well welcome. That reinforces how we want to treat each other and work together every day. And we are delighted that Linda is continuing on this journey with us.”
Linda Sembrant: “I’ve only been here for a few months, but I immediately felt at home in Munich and at FC Bayern. The team and the club are great and have made me feel very welcome. I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I’m all the more pleased that it’s not coming to an end in the summer. I want to achieve even more with FC Bayern next season than we did this year. I think I can contribute to success; I want to help the team and contribute my experience. FC Bayern wants to win titles, and that’s what I want too.”
