Per a release from FCBayern.com, the Bayern Munich Frauen have extended the contract of head coach Alexander Straus through 2026:
Title defense, joint celebrations at Munich City Hall and a crucial contract extension: FC Bayern Women head coach Alexander Straus has signed a new contract to remain in charge of the team until 30 June 2026. The Norwegian took up the role in summer 2022 and led the team to the Bundesliga title in his first season. Straus and his squad then defended their crown with two games to spare this year.
For obvious reasons, head of FC Bayern Women Bianca Rech was happy to bring back Straus.
“We are very pleased that we will continue on our path together. It’s a lot of fun to work with Alexander Straus, both on a professional and personal level. We want to establish our philosophy with him and further develop our style. We are on a very good and promising path with Alex. Alex creates an atmosphere of trust and ambition, is empathetic and a very good motivator. That’s how he gets the most out of a team. We are sure that we will continue to be successful with him,” Rech stated.
As for Straus, the coach is thrilled to extend his stay in Bavaria.
“This is a very proud moment for me to be able to extend my contract here at FC Bayern. I firmly believe in the project that we started here two years ago. We are on a very good path but we still have a lot of potential, and I want to be a part of realising this potential. FC Bayern and I are a good match. The next few years will be exciting. We want to defend our league title again and also make our mark in the Champions League. To achieve this, we must and will work hard every day,” Straus said.
As FCBayern.com noted, Straus won 53 of his 69 competitive fixtures with the Frauen, while the coach has lost just one out of 44 Bundesliga matches.
